The Rua Direita road is home to the Church Our Lady of Divine Providence. Built by Italian friars in 1640, the church still stands tall and speaks volumes about the magnificent architecture. The Italian friars who constructed the church were missionaries at the Kingdom of Golconda. However since they were not permitted to work in Golconda, they decided to settle in Goa. The church is popularly called St. Cajetan, one of the main founders of the holy Order of Theatines.

The convent houses a functional theological college, while the Church, modeled as per Basilica of St. Peter's (Rome) is 121 feet tall and 81 feet wide. Built from laterite stone and lime plastered exteriors, the architecture of the church is in Corinthian style. One main altar and three separate altars have been artfully accommodated inside the church.
