The land of Goa is nestled in the lap of nature, blessed with numerous rivers, a vast coastline and flanked by the Western Ghats and its verdant forests - it is home to the Bondala Wildlife Sanctuary; which is the smallest wildlife sanctuaries in Goa and is spread over an area of just 8 sq km.
Housing a mini zoo, safari park, eco-tourism cottages and a botanical garden, the sanctuary is very popular among children for its exciting elephant rides. Various wild animals viz. wild boars, monkeys, langur, jackals, python, leopards and gaur (the state animal) can be sighted in this sanctuary.
The sanctuary also plays host to an array of avian guests.
