The town of Eesari is located in the Indian state of Jharkhand. This town is a very popular destination in the state among both pilgrims and tourists. Eesari is majorly a pilgrim destination that attracts Jains from all over the country. This is because this town houses a Siddha Kshetra, which literally translates to ‘Place of Salvation’. This Jain temple, also called as the Shri Sammed Shikharji Teerth Kshetra is dedicated to Shri Digambar Jain Siddha Kshetra Sammed Shikharji, and is the only tourist hotspot in Eesari.
The Shikharji Teerth Kshetra is one of the holiest Jain shrines in India, and is of great religious importance and significance. Jains believe that visiting this site at least once during their lifetime will free them from the cycle of living and aid them in reaching heaven once their salvation is complete. For this reason, the town of Eesari experiences a massive influx of tourists throughout the year, and these tourists are mainly Jains from all corners of the country. Tourists travel to this Siddha Kshetra too, in order to get a feel of Jain culture and witness the proceedings in the Jain temple.
The town of Eesari is dotted with huge Jain temples that house idols of all Theerthankaras.
