Bhabani Pathak's Tilla

, Durgapur

Bhabani Pathak’s Tilla is a network of tunnels starting near Durgapur city center up to the Damodar river. This awesome network has shot to fame by the novel Durgesnandini of great Bengali novelist Bankim Chattopadhyay. The novel describes the best features and intricacies of these tunnels.

It is an unbelievable marvelous network. Navigating through the tunnel is impossible if one is not very familiar with the map of the tunnel. Nowadays, the entrance of the tunnel is a protected monument, and well maintained against the ruins. This is a rare tourist spot to visit to have an imposing sight.

Bhabani Pathak's Tilla is a fake story. Bankin Chandra Chattopadhyay wrote a Bengali Novel ,Durgahh Nandini and as it is after the name of Durga . After the Industrial development
for tourist attraction a tilla (hillok)which is by the G.T.Road named as Bhabani Phatak Tilla.
