Teen Murti Bhavan (Nehru House)

The Teen Murti Bhavan is a beautiful monument that is special since it was the home of Jawaharlal Nehru, who was the first Prime Minister of India. It was formerly known as the Flagstaff House, since in those days, it used to be the dwelling place of the British Commander-in-Chief. This extravagant house matched the Anglicized preferences of the Prime Minister who made this magnificent housing complex a home during the period from 1948 to 1964.

The house is set in the middle of large marvelously preserved gardens with rose bed. The Jawahar Jyoti, or the undying flame, that was lit on his birthday in 1964 and his epitaph are also housed in the same complex. The Kushk Mahal is near the Teen Murthi Bhavan while the Nehru Memorial is in the same premises which remain closed on Mondays.
