Best Season / Best time to visit Coorg

Coorg offers moderate and pleasant climate all through the year. But the best season to visit is from October to April.

Winters (December to February) are cool days with minimum temperature above 11°C. This climate with soothing winds & lush greenery is liked by many tourists.
Summers (March to May) are moderate and pleasant with maximum temperature not crossing 34°C. The season is liked by all kinds of tourists.
Monsoons (June to September) offer medium rainfalls, and Coorg is serene during the rains.

October to May is ideal for sightseeing and outdoor visits. June to September is good for short trips and indoor activities.

Weather: Moderately Hot
Summer extends up to May month, accompanied by little warm weather but is still within the comfortably hot range. Sometimes days are pleasant with cool refreshing air. Rains may occur occasionally, and this month is tagged as not the best time for visit, but many tourists liked this season too. It is an ideal month for indulging in some challenging sporting activities such as trekking, angling, golf and taking up wildlife tours/activities.

Jan	Moderately Cold	Weather is cold but manageable. Especially, in early morning and evening, weather is little chilly. But this time is really good for traveling, sightseeing and other outdoor activities. Activities like angling and bird watching can be best enjoyed in winter season. But carrying woolen clothes is a must if visiting during this month.
Feb	Moderately Cold	Moderately cold and pleasant weather, and is favorable for tourist visit. The sky remains clear during the day and the soothing wind, is liked by many tourists. One of the best months for enjoying sightseeing. It is also an excellent time for visiting mountains, coffee gardens, and other areas of scenic/landscape beauty. Trekking, hiking and bird watching can be enjoyed in this time too.
Mar	Moderately Hot	The climate is moderately warm but pleasant and is suitable for vacations or holidaying. There are a lot of clear blue skies and cool breezes that helps in maintaining the temperature. This period is the best time to enjoy out-door activities and walking in the bush. It is also ideal for adventurous activities like trekking, hiking, boating and to explore wildlife of the place.
Apr	Moderately Hot	Mild warm weather but the cool wind makes it pleasant. Days are sunny and long while nights are mild. The moderate weather in this month makes it ideal for traveling to this beautiful hill station. The natural beauty is in its full bloom and this period is perfect for all types of outdoor trips/activities. It is a good time for enjoying adventurous activities like trekking, hiking and boating. Tourists can also enjoy golf and wildlife.

Jun	Rainy	Monsoon starts from this month mostly accompanied by medium rainfall. Due to rain, the place becomes wet and cool. Coorg looks charming in rains. However, it may not be an ideal time for outdoor activities and sightseeing due to rains. This month is recommended to those who like monsoon effect and enjoy rains, as well as those adventure enthusiasts. This time is ideal for white river rafting in Coorg. During monsoon season hotels rates are also lower, which is an added advantage.
Jul	Rainy	The place receives enough rainfall during this month and the weather is cool and wet. Coorg is serene during rains but this month is often tagged as not a best time for visit since rains may interrupt you from going out. This time is recommended for those who enjoy rains. Taking up a short trip is always possible and this period is good for enjoying holidays within the resort and indoor activities. Besides, white river rafting and waterfalls can be enjoyed in rainy season. July being an off-season, the hotels rates/tour packages rates is also lower.
Aug	Rainy	The southwest monsoon brings heavy rainfall during this month. Many people don't prefer to visit during this month due to heavy rains and is often considered as not the best time for visit. But those who like monsoon effect and enjoy rains can always visit in monsoon. This time is ideal for enjoying holidays within the resort, indoor activities and admiring the lush greenery of the place. Moreover, river rafting and waterfalls can be enjoyed in monsoon season. August being an off-season, the hotel/resorts rates are also lower, which is an added advantage.
Sep	Rainy	The place receives heavy showers during early September. Weather is misty and cool wind blows during this month. The place looks fresh and charming in rains but it may not be best time or a little hard to travel around. This time is recommended for nature enthusiasts and those who love rains. One can also enjoy holidaying within the resort and get indulged in indoor activities. White river rafting and waterfalls can be enjoyed during this period. Moreover, the hotels/resorts prices are lower as compared to peak season.
Oct	Pleasant	Tourist season starts from October. The heavy rains have subsided in this month and the weather becomes very pleasing which makes it favorable for sightseeing and outdoor trips. Occasional rainfalls also occur during this period but it doesn’t hinder much in tourist activities. Waterfalls still can be enjoyed in October. Moreover, Mercara Dasara and Cauvery Sankramana are also celebrated during this month.
Nov	Pleasant	The pleasant and comfortable weather conditions invites many travelers in November. This is one of the best months for visiting Coorg. Weather during November is very pleasing with cool breeze, which makes it perfect for sightseeing, outdoor trips and to explore coffee plantations as well as indulging in adventure activities like trekking. This time is perfect for honeymooning.
Dec	Moderately Cold	The place experience moderately cold weather but pleasant making it ideal for tourist activities. Temperatures gets more colder in evenings and early mornings. This month is perfect for sightseeing and to get indulge in activities like angling and bird watching. It is also a good time to visit mountains and other areas of scenic/landscape beauty. However, you will definitely need your woolen apparel during this time.
