Chittoor is a town that is located in the Chittoor District in the State of Andhra Pradesh. The town is also called as Chittur. The town is famous its temples and many of them can be seen around the city. Chittoor is easily accessible as it is located in the main highway that connects Chennai and Bangalore. It is located close to the Tamil Nadu Border. Chittoor is located in the Southern most part of Andhra Pradesh and the place has combination of two cultures. Due to the close proximity to Tamil Nadu Chittoor experiences a quaint mix of the both Tamil and Andhra culture. Tamil and Telugu are the main languages that are spoken in the area.
There are many temples that are located in the town and one of the main temples is the Kanipakam Vinayaka Temple that is located in the IRALA Mandal. Tirupathi hill is famous for its temples and is also located close to Chittoor. Many pilgrims and devotees travel to the Tirupathi Hills throughout the year and it is an important place for many Hindus in the Southern part of India. The town also has a significant Muslim population and many different cultures co exist peacefully.
