Dash 'N Splash – Water park – not a wholesome amusement park

Visited Dash 'N Splash last on 31 August 2008

Entry fee for a person is Rs. 150
Little discount is offered for a group of more than 5 people
Annual Membership is also available for Rs. 1500

When driving from Chennai to Bangalore, Dash 'N Splash comes on the right hand side of the road after Queensland and St Johns School. Dash 'N Splash is situated on the National Highway 4 (Chennai to Bangalore) next to Saveetha Engineering College.

There is no clear sign board on the highway giving directions to the water park, so there is a lot of a possibility that u could miss it on the highway and drive past it. To reach the Water park, just drive to the Saveetha Campus entrance gates and ask the security people for help and they would guide u.

From the main road National Highway, it is a “half a kilometer” drive inside on a bumpy path with no laid tar roads. This narrow sand path with all its ups and downs could do a lot of damage to your vehicle’s suspension.

Dash 'N Splash has a very simple entrance with no grand arch welcoming you.
Two wheeler parking inside the campus; and four wheeler and heavy vehicle parking outside the campus.
No separate parking fee for vehicles.

Once inside the Water park, it is a down to earth experience, a silent soft simple resort.
The tall trees, bushy plants and colorful flowers are a treat to the nature lover.

Kids play area with See-Saw and Swing are the first attractions that satisfactorily excite and excitingly satisfy the kid in your heart.

Dash 'N Splash is just a Water Park – not a wholesome amusement park
It has got three swimming pools – maximum depth is just 3 feet in all the three pools
It has got five water slides – height ranging from 6 feet to 30 feet drop
No separate fee for any of the pools or slides

No strict dress code is maintained in the Water Park
Visitors (Ladies and Gents) can play in the pool in any desired/preferred dress

For storing the visitors’ belongings, locker facilities are available at a rent of Rs. 10 and Refundable deposit of Rs. 50. But pls be careful with the locker keys and don’t miss then in the swimming pools or the green lawns.

Rubber mats for water slides are available on rent for Rs. 10
Tyre tubes for swimming pools are available on rent for Rs. 20
Playing balls are available on sale for Rs. 50
Gents Bermuda shorts are available on sale for Rs. 50

An in-house canteen serves Lunch (fried rice, poori, chappathi) at 13.00 in the afternoon
Ice creams, fried chips, drinking water, tea and coffee are also available.
Non vegetarian dishes are also available – but on special order only.
Pls make sure to order food by at least 12.00, especially for Non Veg.
All the items on the menu are a bit over priced but adjustable.
Taste wise, all food are ok, with nothing much to complain or congratulate about

Dash 'N Splash is ideal for:
1) Kids who would love to play in water
2) Corporate employees on a office party
3) Group of college friends for a get together
4) Couples looking out for a romantic outing on a serene backdrop

Dash 'N Splash is not suited for:
1) Freaky fun loving and Adrenaline rushing adventure seeking people who enjoy roller coasters, giant wheels, merry go rounds, etc. Those kind of people pls visit the nearby Queensland

Dash 'N Splash is claimed by the authorities to be open on all days with no holidays
If that is the case, wonder when do they change the water and clean the pools?
All swimming pools in general have a day off for maintenance work.
But Dash 'N Splash does not have one, which raise concerns over its quality levels and hygiene sense

Toilets, which act as dressing changing rooms, are very badly maintained at Dash 'N Splash.

The 3 to 4 old security guards in the Water Park would bless you with all their heart, if u could tip them ten rupees each.

Though Dash 'N Splash has nothing much exciting and exhilarating, it is purely up to us to keep our own selves entertained and make it an enjoyable experience.

Forget all your worries and tensions behind, come away from the maddening hustles and bustles of the overcrowded Chennai, and spend a day at this small calm and quite resort. Refresh and rejuvenate yourself.
