An outstanding example of the Japanese architecture and deep rooted Buddhist preaching, the Indosan Nippon Japanese temple is situated at a distance of 15 km from the town of Bodh Gaya. The temple itself has been carved out from wood and resembles a typical Japanese shrine.

The temple houses many exquisite Japanese paintings narrating many special events form the life of Gautam Buddha. The temple was constructed in 1972 is one of the most well maintained and attended temples. Apart from this temple the Japanese Government and people have funded many projects for preservation and spread of Buddhism and Buddha’s preaching.
