The temple of Bhimshankar has been there from the 18th century. The temple has one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of India. The temple is the good place for trekkers, bird watchers and photographers. The temple was built by Nana Fadnis. The architecture of the temple depicts the Indo Aryan and the Nagra style of designs.
The twelve Jyotrilinga shrines which are popularly known as the Dwadasa Jyotirlingas. These shrines are considered to be very holy for the Hindus. The 12 Jyotrilingas are spread in different parts of India. The northernmost linga is at Kedarnath and the southernmost is at Rameswaram.

The Sahyadri Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the state of Maharashtra. This Sanctuary houses the Jumbo size Indian Squirrel and many other animals and birds.
The sanctuary is spread over an area of 120 sq km on the Western Ghats in the Sahyadri Ranges. The area receives heavy monsoon rainfall. It is a very popular weekend getaway from nearby cities.
The valley is a fantastic combination of shrubs, magical herbs and plants of different varieties. The Sahyadri Wildlife Sanctuary is situated at a height of 2100 to 3800 feet.

Rains in the Sahyadris are great and the weather during the rainy season is the best time for trekking. Hiking also has special charm on these mountains. This mountain gives ample chance for rock climbers to gain experience in rock climbing. The route is equally enjoyable to both beginners and experienced climbers.
Sahyadri extends every thing that is best. It is advisable to carry enough drinking water while trekking.
