Best Season / Best time to visit Asansol

The city of Asansol experiences four main seasons - summer, monsoon, autumn and winter seasons. The place can be visited any time of the year but the best season is from September to March.
  • Winters (December to February) are expected to fall temperatures as low as around 4 degrees Celsius. The maximum expected temperature is around 32 degrees Celsius during the winter season. This period is ideal for sightseeing and other types of tourist activities.
  • Summers (March to May) are hot and humid. Temperatures can be expected to reach a maximum of around 40 degrees Celsius during this period. The mercury never falls below 20 degrees Celsius. The summer days are still enjoyable for tourist visits.
  • Monsoons (June to September) are extensive and rainfall is constant during this period. July experiences maximum rainfalls and it’s better to avoid visiting during this month. Otherwise, the climate is still favorable for tourist activities.
  • Autumns (October to November) are short and has pleasant weather. It is a good period for travelling.
October and November features pleasing climate making it the best time to visit Asansol. Winters too are favorable for sightseeing and outdoor activities. Summer days are hot and humid but tourist visits are still possible. Monsoons are favorable for short trips but beware of the heavy rains, especially in July month.

Moderately Cold
Asansol has moderate cold climate in January. Days are quite pleasing with beautiful sunshine while nights can be a bit cold. The time is suitable for sightseeing and temple visits.
Winter season continues till February month. The climate is pleasant with plenty of sunshine. It is one of the most ideal months for visiting Asansol. Sightseeing, temple visits and outdoor activities are enjoyable during this period.
Summer season arrives in March. The temperature begins to rise but it still ranges within the comfort hot zone. The weather is temperate and is suitable for tourist visits. Nights are comparatively cooler than daytime.
Moderately Hot
The climate becomes hot and humid in April. But on an average, the weather is moderately hot with lots of clear skies and sunshine. Thunderstorm is a common occurrence in early summer. It may not be the best season for visit. But if you are planning for a visit then make sure to carry sun protective gears.
Very Hot
The climate is very hot in May making it uncomfortable for tourist activities. Days are hot with plenty of sunshine and clear skies. Sometimes, thunderstorms also occur in summer. Nights are comparatively cooler, due to the cold winds that blows during this period. Traveling in this month will require proper sun protection.
Moderately Hot
Monsoon sets in June, giving a relief from the hot sun. On an average, the temperature reduces to some extent but increases in humidity level which makes it a bit uncomfortable for tourist activities. This month is not the best time for visit, but those who enjoy monsoon can still enjoy outings in rains.
Maximum rainfalls occur in July making it the wettest month of the year. Most of the days are accompanied by rains and there will be little blue sky. This month is recommended rain lovers and those who enjoy monsoon effect. But be sure to carry rain gears.
Rain continues to pour down during August making it the second wettest month of the year. Rainfall will occur most of the times which makes it a bit difficult to move out. Most of the tourist avoids visiting in rainy season but those who like rainy travels can still enjoy their visit. Besides, the nature of the place is also enjoyable.
Monsoon continues but the place receives intermittent rainfall in September. There are many days without rainfall, which makes it possible for tourist activities. The weather becomes comfortable and is suitable for temple visits.
The climate becomes very pleasing in October. Days are pleasant with lots of beautiful sunshine and blue skies. Sometimes, short rainfall may occur. It is the best time for indulging in sightseeing activities and visiting temples.
Moderately Cold
November has mild cold weather. Days are pleasant with beautiful sunshine but nights can be a little cold. However, the temperature is comfortable for carrying out tourist activities. Sighting attractions, temple visits and other outdoor activities can be enjoyed in this period.
Very Cold
The place has cold weather in during December. Daytime is quite pleasing which makes it favorable for tourist activities. Nights can be a bit cold in comparison to day time. Light warm clothes are recommended for this period.
