Tags: Art & Museum

Anthropological Museum is maintained and managed by ASI, Anthropological Survey of India, and is located at Port Blair, the capital of Andaman. It is an exquisite small museum showcasing wide collection of tools and weapons used by Anadamanese tribes. This also encloses many photographs of different tribes and aborigines of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

A great treasure of Island history, a well maintained library, functions on the top of the museum. Many films depicting the life and culture of the Andaman are also preserved here. The Museum authorities arrange few documentary and film shows for the visitors of the museum.

It is open all days except Mondays from 9 am to 12 noon and 1 pm to 4 pm.

Mr SUBIR ROY Dear Sir,
Recently I visited Andaman Govt. organisation / Anthropological Museum on 25th, March, 2008 with my family from Kolkata, Salt Lake. Regarding this visit I have some feed back. I am also a Govt employee under department of atomic energy, Govt. of India. I am very much surprise to visit your museum that .... A GREAT MISTAKE IN SPELLING IN YOUR MAIN ENTRANCE GATE OF MUSEUM i.e. the spelling of "FOREIGNERS" Entry fees for INDIANS AND FORIEGNERS - Rs 10.00/- Please correct it. It's a great mistake of our nation. That also indicates that how govt employees are irresponsible .. !!
Thank you
Mr Subir Roy
